NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK 2024

Here at Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge our motto is ‘Be proud of what you can achieve’ and we share an ethos around inclusion for all. In our centre, we adapt our sessions to suit the needs of as many climbers as we can, to make them feel welcome and supported.

At Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge there are numerous ways we aim to support as many people as possible.

1. Our friendly and encouraging staff are on hand to support groups and individuals to challenge themselves and build their confidence

2. We adapt our centre to meet specific needs e.g. turning off flashing lights, calming the environment, reducing capacity of specific sessions and turning off the music

3. Offering specialist equipment (disabled hoist) to help those who have physical disabilities get involved

4. Involve ourselves in schemes organised by the Council such as Short Break vouchers and SEND HAF programmes

5. We work with different charities and groups, offering exclusive sessions.

One of our main partners is Spectrum, a multi-award winning parent led charity who provide support for families of children with autism, additional needs, learning difficulties and disabilities.

Our work with Spectrum goes back to the opening of our centre, eight years ago, where we dedicate one session a month for their members. We have since introduced another gifted session for the 4 ½ years that our sister centre, Climb Quest Milton Keynes, has been open.

It has been a pleasure to open our doors to these families, allowing them to be active in an understanding environment, and we are honoured to work alongside Justin and Amy Heron who have built up an incredible charity.

“Their team is a fantastic match for us, full of extremely dedicated, talented and kind people with a passion for inclusion and making a difference.
Our sessions with them are one of the most popular events that we provide. These enable children to climb for the first time as well as improve on what they have done already.
At every level of business, customer service and dedication, we couldn’t recommend Clip n Climb Cambridge highly enough.”

Justin Heron, CEO of Spectrum
