Clip 'n Climb Booking Info

- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is required to sign the disclaimer form and be present during the climbing session. Unaccompanied children will not be allowed to climb and will lose their session.

- We strongly recommend booking on line as it is the fastest and most efficient way of making a booking... Click here for online bookings.

- Pre-booking of your Clip 'n Climb session is highly recommended as our sessions fill up quickly. You can call in on the spur of the moment but there is no guarantee that we will have spaces available.

- For large party reservations or exclusive climbing bookings please email or call us ... Click here for contact details.

- If one parent or guardian is bringing multiple children, some of whom are not their own, that adult is responsible for the whole group.

- Loose fitting clothes are recommended

- Only closed toe shoes are allowed. For safety reasons, we cannot allow sandals, flip flops or rock shoes into the Clip 'n Climb Arena.

- Please keep jewellery to a minimum. We do have the facility to safely secure jewellery if required.

- Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your session.

- Sessions last for an hour and a half. The first half an hour will comprise of your introduction, safety briefing and harness fitting. This is then followed by 55 minutes in the Clip 'n Climb arena and 5 minutes where we collect the harnesses and usher you back to the café/viewing area.

Cancelling your Clip 'n Climb session

For standard climbing bookings you can cancel or amend your booking up to 48hrs in advance of your booking date.

For Exclusive Climbing Sessions and Corporate Events you can cancel or amend your booking up to 7 days in advance of your booking date.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds if less notice is given.

Refunds will only be given if the cancellation is received 7 days in advance or more.

Our aim for this is page is to answer the main questions our guests have before their visit. If you have any questions that are not covered or need further clarification, please contact us before your visit. We will keep updating this page so it is as helpful as possible.

Q: How should I book my session?
A: To book a climbing session please go to our online booking page (click here), take a look at the available sessions and select your date, time, scroll down to the number of climbers and press the + sign to add or take away numbers, then enter your details, make sure there are NO SPACES in your phone number and book your session.
To book a party into a normal session (e.g. you just want to bring a group of kids but don’t want the whole space exclusively) please follow the above steps, then call us or email us to book a party table.
To book an EXCLUSIVE party please call or email us with your requirements and leave a phone number so we can call you back.


Q: Can I buy food and drink at Clip 'n Climb?
A: You certainly can...You'll work up a thirst so grab yourself a cold drink or a slushie! We serve fantastic barista coffees and sweet treats including fruit, cookies, cakes and ice creams. Don't leave hungry after your climb - enjoy a meal or snack from our café. Our menu includes delicious freshly made stone baked pizzas, paninis and sandwiches.


Q: Is Clip 'n Climb just for Kids?
A: No! Loads of adults climb with us. Adults can climb in any session that has free spaces. We also do private hire and corporate events.


Q: Do you do gift vouchers?
A: Yes we do and they can be made up with your chosen number of climbing sessions as well as our Extreme Challenges and merchandise. Please call or visit us in person to purchase.


Q: What is your minimum age?
A: Our minimum age is 4 years old. Sadly this is not negotiable.


Q: Do you cater for groups with special requirements?
A: We believe in inclusion at Clip 'n Climb and will always endeavour to help any individual or group with special requirements to participate. We encourage anyone making a booking of this nature to contact us and arrange a site visit prior to booking, to discuss how the climbing system operates and provide you with any information required, in order for you to decide if this is an appropriate activity for you, or anyone in your care.

For health and safety reasons, we do not allow non climbers into the climbing arena, so please discuss any requirements you might have for carers to accompany your climber so we can make suitable arranagements. 

We have a limited amount of reserved parking spaces on site. Subject to availability, you can reserve a parking space if you have a disabled badge or are bringing a school or youth group. Please contact the centre in advance of your visit to make arrangements. 


Q: Myself or a member of my party is colour blind – how will this affect our climbing session?
A: Our safety mats are coloured purple and the 'Amazing' climbing wall is coloured Red and Green, which we understand can be difficult to distinguish if you are colour blind. Please speak to a member of our climbing team before your session to clarify the points related to the safety mat and the walls.


Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Cancelations or changes to a normal booking can be made up to 48hrs before.  Please call or email to make these changes. Cancellations and changes to an EXCLUSIVE or CORPORATE booking can be made up to 7 days before or the full fee for the session is payable.


Q: Can I buy tickets for the Vertical Drop Slide and Stairway to Heaven on the day?
A: Yes from the Café or Reception at £2.50 per go, although spaces are limited for each session.


Q: What should we wear?
A: A lot of our guests have been surprised how much of a work out the session is, so loose fitting, sporty clothes are recommended. Only closed toe shoes are allowed. For safety reasons, we cannot allow sandals, flip flops or rock shoes into the Clip 'n Climb Arena. Please keep jewellery to a minimum. We do have the facility to safely secure jewellery if required.


Q: What time will my session start?
A: Timings for an example 90-minute session at Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge are as follows:
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your session starts e.g. 1.20pm for a 1.30pm session start.
The first half an hour will comprise of your introduction, safety briefing and harness fitting. This is then followed by 55 minutes in the Clip ‘n Climb arena and 5 minutes where we collect the harnesses and usher you back to the café/viewing area.
You will then climb for 55 minutes e.g. 2.00pm-.2.55pm.
With the last 5 minutes of the session, we will collect the harnesses and usher everyone back to the café/viewing area.


Q: We’ve been before – do we have to do the training again?
A: Yes, everyone must do the training before every session they climb with us.


Q: I am a parent/guardian bringing children? Do I have to climb with my child/children or can I just watch? 
A: You don’t have to climb, as we have plenty of staff on the arena floor to help your children. However, lots of adults climb with us too, so you can share the experience with them.

Q: What are your parking facilities?
A: Secure car parking is available in the Cambridge Leisure multi-storey car park on Clifton Way, which is a short walk from our centre. For more information including parking charges click here

Q: Can I bring my own food and drink?
A: Sorry, no. Only food and drink purchased from our café can be consumed on the premises. Tap water is available for free for guests and recommended for thirsty climbers.


Q: Are non climbers allowed in the climbing arena?
A: As a rule, we do not allow non climbers into the arena. However, we appreciate that some climbers such as 4 and 5 years olds, and those with additional requirements, might want a parent of guardian to accompany them. Non climbers must speak to our reception or a member of our climbing team before their session to request entry and this will be given at our discretion. Any non climbers entering the arena are required to observe our safety procedures and any instructions given by the climbing team.
